Schlote Family Purchases The Property
From 1935 to 1943, the Schlotes raised a family in the house. Upon the death of her husband, Mrs. Schlote began renting rooms in the house to travelers and fishermen at a rate of $5 per night. The Schlotes were the last family to live at the house, which they called Casa del Noyo.
Renovations and Remodels
The Holmes spent nearly a decade remodeling and adding onto the house, employing skilled Scandinavian shipwrights to complete the beautiful board and batten hardwood fir and redwood paneling throughout the building.
